Exuberant Handloom
I worked on a collection for Fabindia during my graduation project. The fabric was provided by Fabindia for the summer ’10
collection. The idea was to create styles which which would appeal to all segments of their clientele. An attempt was made to
incorporate various surface techniques on solid shades in cotton/silk fabric, used in combination with the various prints, while
keeping the silhouettes simple and low cost. The entire collection was in woven fabrics.
This project provided me with the much needed exposure and understanding of wovens. It was an acute transition from my
usual works, where I essentially dealt with knitted fabrics, and helped me in diversifying my horizons.
