Surface Techniques and Fabric Manipulation

Inspiration calls for me to bring a needle near,

to sit for hours in my chair.

To feel the thread running through my hands,

to create a picture that is so grand.

I have always been mesmerised by the boundless possibilities for exploration in the art of hand embroidery and surface manipulation. It is amusing how the

assimilation of a simple kantha stitch can refashion the simplest and most unremarkable garments.  Through my various training projects, I have learnt a

lot about the art of surface techniques and fabric manipulation, both for knits, as well as for woven fabrics.
